Travelfusion, a global leader in travel technology, partnered with Modus to design an office that merges their travel expertise with the bold Memphis design movement. Located in the iconic “Can of Ham” building in London, the workspace reflects Travelfusion’s innovative spirit while embracing a vibrant, visually engaging aesthetic. The goal was creating an environment that celebrates the company’s brand identity while providing employees with a dynamic and functional space.

Project in Brief

  • Merged travel themes with bold Memphis-inspired aesthetics.
  • Added airport-style wayfinding and arrow graphics for a cohesive narrative.
  • Designed collaborative zones and meeting rooms to inspire teamwork.

Blending Memphis Design and Travel

The design integrates Travelfusion’s global travel focus with the playful and creative energy of Memphis-inspired aesthetics. Bold geometric patterns, colourful wall prints, and striking fabrics energise the space, while terrazzo-effect flooring and pop art-inspired breakout furniture add a touch of sophistication.

To reinforce the travel narrative, the design incorporates arrow graphics on exposed concrete flooring, mimicking airport runways. British Airport Authority-inspired wayfinding signage adds to the cohesive theme, guiding employees and visitors through the workspace while celebrating Travelfusion’s expertise in travel technology. The Can of Ham’s unique curved architecture also influenced the layout, contributing to the flow and creativity of the design.

Functional Spaces with a Cohesive Narrative

The office layout is designed for flexibility and supports teamwork, focus, and collaboration. Glass-fronted meeting rooms and open-plan collaborative zones encourage interaction among teams, while private work areas cater to focused tasks. A highlight of the space is its alignment to true north, symbolising Travelfusion’s role in helping clients navigate the complexities of global travel.

The office’s location in the heart of London enhances its functionality and brand impact. Situated within one of the city’s most prestigious buildings, Travelfusion benefits from proximity to key business hubs and excellent transport links, reflecting their global reach and connection. Travelfusion’s new workspace embodies their innovative culture while balancing aesthetic appeal and functionality.
