Dr Toby Benzecry
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Toby has the following degrees: DBA (Warwick), MA (Cantab), MEng (Cantab), MBA (Warwick) and BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. He worked the early part of his career in the manufacturing industry and moved into management consultancy in 1986.
He founded Modus – the largest company in the WFG family – at the beginning of 1992, initially to offer consultancy services to businesses undergoing significant change to their physical environments. Toby created the current group structure in the early 2000s in order to provide a platform to develop related businesses to serve different sectors and procurement routes, and to house particular specialisms. He is the Group CEO but still spends much of his time client-facing and enjoys bringing his many years of experience to bear on challenging projects.
He completed a doctorate in 2020 after several years of research. The thesis title is “How should organisations use change of workplace to improve performance?”, a subject at the heart of all the WFG offerings.
Matthew Short
Director
Matthew joined Modus in 1995 having worked independently with the company from its inception. Matthew trained as an architect, becoming a director of EPR – a London based architects’ practice – at the age of 29. He specialised in large corporate fit out projects and was responsible for the relocation of the headquarters of Land Securities and the 450,000 sq ft relocation of the Department of the Environment amongst others.
In his years with the business Matthew has fulfilled many roles and led some of the company’s largest and most complex projects. His role on the board is to provide architectural and design oversight to all group activities, but he also spends a great deal of his time on client projects.
Tim White
Chief Operating Officer
Tim started his career as a designer, initially in office furniture and then workplace interiors. He joined Modus in 1999 and quickly moved into project management. Tim progressed rapidly through the company and became Managing Director of Modus Workspace in 2010. In 2019 he moved up to the group board as Chief Operating Officer.
Tim has a broad role in the business, providing operational oversight, ensuring compliance with standards, and is overall in charge of Health and Safety. Like Toby and Matthew, Tim also spends much of his time working on client projects where his extensive experience adds significant value.
Tibor Diossi
Chief Financial Officer
Tibor is the Chief Finance Officer having originally joined the group as Finance Director of Modus FM in 2008. He is an economics graduate and chartered accountant.
Along with all the finance and accounting functions, Tibor is also responsible for human resources, premises and strategic IT within the group.
