Modus worked with Nomad Foods to design a workspace where the energy of a commercial kitchen meets the comfort of home. Known for their passion for food and sustainability, Nomad Foods sought a space that reflects their values while encouraging collaboration and creativity. The resulting headquarters blends innovation, functionality, and a deep connection to their mission, creating an environment that brings their team together.
Project in Brief
- Installed an interconnecting staircase across two floors to enhance connectivity.
- Used sustainable materials, including carpets made from recycled fishnets.
- Designed a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen studio for food trials and events.
Sustainability Woven Into Every Detail
Every element of the design reflects Nomad Foods’ commitment to sustainability and marine conservation. Acoustic panels made from recycled plastic bottles and carpets crafted from repurposed marine materials were chosen to align with the company’s values. These thoughtful design choices ensure that sustainability is integrated into the workspace’s aesthetics and functionality.
Nomad Foods’ location also played a role in shaping the design. As a global leader in frozen food, their headquarters serves as a hub for innovation and collaboration. The space reflects their dedication to sustainability, supporting their team as they work on solutions that minimise environmental impact while delivering high-quality products.
Culinary Passion at the Heart
At the centre of the design is a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen studio. This multifunctional space supports food trials, training sessions, and events, making it the beating heart of the office. Nearby, a “foodies” teapoint features an integrated herb garden and pendant lights made from food waste, seamlessly connecting workspaces with areas for relaxation and collaboration. Open town halls, lounge areas, and seating spill out from the kitchen, creating a vibrant environment that encourages interaction.
From the kitchen studio to the meeting spaces, every corner of Nomad Foods’ headquarters reflects their passion for food, sustainability, and innovation. The thoughtful design ensures the space meets their needs and inspires their team to push boundaries.
