After testing a temporary office in central London, leading financial technology company Checkout.com decided that Shoreditch was going to be their new home. We partnered with Checkout.com to find their perfect space and bring their design vision to life.
Project in Brief
- Relocated Checkout.com’s HQ to a modern 80,000 sq ft space in Shoreditch.
- Designed a sleek, minimalistic, collaborative office across three floors of the Wenlock Works building.
- Integrated communal spaces, including a feature staircase, amphitheatre, and coffee bar for team engagement.
A Vision for a Collaborative Workspace
The design brief was cantered on a sleek, minimalistic aesthetic with a monochromatic colour palette, reflecting the CEO’s vision for a space that inspires teamwork and interaction. Drawing inspiration from the building’s modern-industrial exterior, our design team ensured a seamless visual experience that extended throughout all four floors, creating a cohesive and dynamic workspace.
Innovative Design Elements Across the Floors
The third floor became the hub for collaboration and interaction, featuring dropped-floor laptop stations, elevated team areas, and smartboards. The raw steel feature staircase connects all four floors, while a black-and-white feature wall with neon lighting adds personality to the space. The floor also includes an amphitheatre with tiered seating and a podium stage for events, as well as a versatile team coffee bar that transforms into a DJ booth. Across the fourth and fifth floors, the design maintains the collaborative theme with scrum areas, teapoints, and presentation screens
