Two partnered with Work.Life to create a vibrant coworking space in Old Street, designed to reflect the brand’s characteristics, the area’s artistic heritage, and its dynamic energy. The project aimed to balance the building’s industrial character with modern design elements and the spirit of Old Street, resulting in a flexible, creative environment that supports a variety of work styles.

Project in Brief

  • Flexible workspace with private offices, hot desking, and meeting rooms
  • Design inspired by Old Street’s vibrant, graffiti-influenced aesthetic
  • Modern industrial style with bold colours, raw textures, and soft furnishings

Blending Industrial Character with Modern Design

The design approach celebrated the building’s industrial roots, retaining raw materials and structural features while introducing contemporary finishes. Private offices, hot desking areas with railway and banquette booths, and standard desk setups were incorporated to provide flexible working options.

Meeting rooms were designed to stand out, featuring vibrant colours inspired by the surrounding street art. Equipped with virtual conferencing technology, dedicated Zoom Rooms, and one-person call booths, the space is tailored for both in-person collaboration and remote connectivity.

Vibrant Spaces with Creative Functionality

The lower ground floor was transformed into a versatile social hub, featuring glazed ceilings that allow natural light to filter through, enhancing the space’s open feel. Thoughtfully designed alcoves offer both informal and formal seating arrangements, encouraging spontaneous interactions alongside focused work.

The interior palette blends deep blues and pinks, complemented by bold paint colours, raw metal textures, and soft leather furnishings. This combination creates a warm, energetic atmosphere that resonates with Work.Life’s brand identity reflects the creative spirit of Old Street, making each area feel distinct yet cohesive.

A Workspace That Reflects the Energy of Old Street

This project showcases how industrial character can be elevated with contemporary design to create an inspiring environment. The workspace supports diverse working styles and reflects the vibrant, ever-evolving energy of one of London’s most dynamic neighbourhoods.
